It was very good. Action packed, it even had Jack Shepard from Lost in it. (Well, the actor, anyway.)
Any kid 8 or up would like it. My dad thought it was boring, but It was really action packed and confusing at times. I'd recommend bringing some personal friends to it.Warning, It says 3 curse words, very loudly, and repeatedly.

This film has been UNFAIRLY panned by critics! It has a great plot, drama, humor and OUTSTANDING ACTING! The characters we knew as kids are truly brought to life and made entirely believable! Even the villian in the film is GREAT FUN TO WATCH! The special effects are stylistic and worthwhile and the clips don't do the film justice at all. Where most all CGI films are tacky, this one is campy and perfect for the job of translating a cartoon to 'real life'! THE FILM IS FAITHFUL to the original speed racer with regard to the cars too! This film is groundbreaking in terms of being a true cinematic MASTERPEICE! One has to approach Speed Racer for what it is-- a entirely fun family film alive with dynamic color and showcasing a new kind of look and style!

Go Speed Go! This movie was Fun Fun Fun. All these bright colors and awesome cars actually existing in a live action world is more than you can ask for. The real world is actually a bit disappointing when you walk out of the theater. I felt it was very true to the original cartoon in much of its excess and cheesiness. Don't go expecting a masterpiece. This is a family film based on a cartoon. The race scenes were great and at the end I felt like cheering out loud. Then I saw it again the next week and it was even better. Go Speed Go!

The movie was confusing in the beginning becuase of all the flashbacks, you didn\'t know if you were in the presence or in the past. Racer X was a surprisingly important character (which you find out in the end) Speed\'s \"girl friend\" Trixie is \"cool beans\" with her bright, cheerful attitude and wardrobe. This movie was 2 1/2 hours but you should deff. see it.

Trailers don't do this one justice. It looks like this is going to be a some high-tech, sci-fi, futuristic checkerboard explosion on wheels, but 'speed racer' could be the prize-winning surprise of this year. Those who think they're too cool to connect with this cartoon character will find themselves cheering along with the rest of us - 'hubba hubba, speed racer' is nothin' short of 'cool beans'!

Speed Racer was very enjoyable. the beginning was kinda off but the movie got better as it kept going. Emile Hirsch played his character perfectly as did Christina Ricci. no one else could have played it well.

A dizzing fast action (sometimes too fast and too dizzy) futuristic race o'rama. It felt like I was watching Roller Derby meets d*** Tracy (you know the not so good one with Maddonna) on a roller coaster. I took two 6 year old (boys) and a 4 year old (girl). The 4 year old was ready to leave after 20 minutes, but the boys were entertained. I will say there was some unecessary language, one finger gesture and some questionable violence.

The actors did a pretty good job. John Goodman was believeable as Pops. Spped, Rex, Spirtle Racer were good and Racer X was very believable.

All in all OK, but wouldn't pay to see it again. Witter
